Fleet Foxes - "Helplessness Blues"

Hailing from the all over the American Northwest the folk revivalist six piece known as Fleet Foxes are bringing their sophisticated style and vocal harmonizing to the masses. Rising to fame in 2008 with the release of their EP Sun Giant and their eponymous debut full length have garnered widespread critical acclaim as well as a strong following of fans in the contemporary folk-harmony genre alongside bands like Mumford & Sons and, to a lesser folk degree, Grizzly Bear. Briefly inactive after a tour supporting Fleet Foxes in 2009 the band has avoided the sophomore slump with the May 3rd release of Helplessness Blues. Expanding upon their debut Fleet Foxes' second album forms a more cohesive vision for the band and a seamless listening experience from track to track likened to Van Morrison's Astral Weeks by band leader Robin Pecknold. Fleet Foxes take their acoustics on the road this summer including a headlining slot at this year's Pitchfork Music Festival. Be sure to check them out on the road this summer and avoid those "Helplessness Blues".

Lil Wayne - "John" (feat. Rick Ross)

The Bayou bred Young Money millionaire has made the most of his recent release from prison giving new meaning to the phrase "paying your debt to society". In fact with a full slate of summer shows already in full swing with openers like Rick Ross, Lloyd, and Keri Hilson and the hotly anticipated Tha Carter IV on the way it'll be hard not to embrace Lil Wayne back into his role as one of the best MC's in the world. Already more prolific this year than elite rappers like Kanye West or Jay-Z, who still have yet to release their collaborative album Watch The Throne, Weezy seems poised for world domination after watching the careers of his proteges Drake and Nicki Minaj take off during his time in prison. Most recently Lil Wayne hit the stage at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards with Mary J. Blige to perform Someone To Love Me (Naked). Picking up where the frenetic flow of single "6 Foot 7 Foot" left off here's "John" featuring the Teflon Don himself Rick Ross.

Nicki Minaj - "Super Bass"

The aforementioned Young Money princess Nicki Minaj has made the most of her indomitable talent and *ahem*...assets to rise up as the most prominent female artist in hip hop today. Her first album Pink Friday has already reached platinum status and became the first artist to ever have seven songs on the Billboard Hot 100 at the same time. Minaj first turned heads as a part of Lil Wayne's Young Money collective and has put her high heeled foot forward on her path to stardom. Blending a pop style with her unique rap delivery Minaj continues to gain both fans and respect. The latter of the two stemming from the guest verse she contributed to Kanye West's "Monster" that many have hailed as the best of 2010. This summer Minaj hits the road with Britney Spears as a part of her Femme Fatale tour. Turn up the "Super Bass" and check out this fun, flirty, and vibrantly pink video.

Beyonce - "Run The World (Girls)"

Stepping out on her own after announcing that she would no longer be managed by her father Mathew, who had been managing her since her Destiny's Child days, Beyonce Knowles has asserted herself as an indisputable super star. Since 2003 Beyonce has sold over 75 million records worldwide putting her on par with such legendary acts as Prince, Van Halen, and The Doors and lest we forget her staggering total of 16 Grammy Awards. Taking a break in 2010 after the success and worldwide tour of I Am...Sasha Fierce Ms. Knowles took some time to restore her creative energy and it shows in her latest, Major Lazer sampling, single "Run The World (Girls)". In advance of her fourth studio album aptly titled 4 and her headlining appearance at this year's Glastonbury Festival the singer has vilified Kanye West's VMA melt down once again with another iconic video replete with her signature, difficult to duplicate choreography. If this is what a world run by girls looks like than sign us up. Beyonce 2012?

Flaming Lips - "Do You Realize? / Can't Get You Out Of My Head / Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots, Pt. 1"

Now let's get those pool side Memorial Day Weekend vibes working. We couldn't think of anyone better to make you feel better than Oklahoma art-rockers the Flaming Lips. Lead by front man and band mastermind Wayne Coyne as well as the under rated, multi-instrumentalist Steven Drozd the Lips are entering their 28th year of existence and show no signs of slowing down. With a live show that is widely considered one of the best and a message of cosmic love and peace Wayne Coyne and Co. regularly make fans of non-believers wherever they take their traveling caravan party. Ever see the lead singer of a band roll out onto the crowd in a giant hamster ball while confetti and balloons are blown out of a cannon into the audience? And that description really is only the half of it. Unscripted of the Week - The Hangover II

After the runaway box office success of 2009's The Hangover it was really only a matter of time before a sequel would come gunning for another summer movie run. Enter The Hangover II only two years later.Following the continuing misadventures of Phil (Bradley Cooper), Stu (Ed Helms), and Alan (Zach Galifianakis) part two picks up right where its predecessor left off. This go around The Wolf Pack travel to Thailand for Stu's wedding. In an effort to avoid the fate that befell him in Las Vegas, Stu opts for a relaxed morning brunch in place of a raucous bachelor party. Well one thing leads to another as the group wakes up in Bangkok missing the brother of Stu's fiancee. In their efforts to recover Stu's future brother in law the gang employs the help of faces old and new including the eccentric Leslie Chow (Ken Jeong). Cooper, Helms, Galifianakis, and Jeong recently stopped by to answer your questions as a part of Moviefone's "Unscripted" series. Check out the full interview below. Music Video Friday // Lollapalooza Edition

It's the last Music Video Friday of April folks! Where does the time go? For those of you lucky enough to have attended Coachella or the myriad of other great music events this past month we salute you as we move further into the summer festival season. Oh yeah, the lineup for the 20th edition of Lollapalooza came out this week. No big deal.That's right readers. Lather on some sun tan lotion and get psyched for the Chicago-in-August heat both literally and in the form of this top heavy group of artists.

Coldplay - "Lost" feat. Jay-Z

We begin with arguably Lollapalooza's biggest get in the English alt-rock band Coldplay. With only a few dates lined up this year and a new album on the way in the fall the fields of Chicago may be your only chance to see Chris Martin & co. this summer. Not to mention the fact that Coldplay will likely debut some of their new stuff live so if you're a fan this could just be a can't miss show. Without even so much as a name for the band's hotly anticipated new album it doesn't get more exclusive than this. Unless of course you turn around and notice the 50,000 plus other people surrounding you. Here's "Lost" featuring Jay Z.

A Perfect Circle - "The Outsiders"

Inactive since 2004 A Perfect Circle looks to pick up right where they left off with a headlining slot at Lollapalooza not unlike Soundgarden's much heralded return to form last year. The rock super group, featuring Maynard James Keenan of Tool fame, make an exclusive (for now) festival appearance so yet another reason to hit "buy" on that ticket window. Whether or not they will have new music in tow with them remains to be seen, but we can say with certainty that this may be the largest scale head banging show of the weekend. You can't teach an old dog new tricks, and sometimes that's alright especially in "The Outsiders".

Deftones - "Minerva"

Yet another act making an exclusive major festival appearance at Lolla the California alt-metal group Deftones continue on into their third decade of existence. With six albums, including the 2000 classic White Pony, the band finds their roots in heavy metal but ultimately expands into art rock, prog, and even rap metal. On many a festival devotees "want" list year after year Deftones set should be filed under "can't miss". From their self titled 2003 LP here's "Minerva".

Muse - HAARP (Full Live)

Rounding out the top line of the Lollapalooza poster is the recently betrothed Matt Bellamy and Muse. The British stadium rockers bring their over the top, massive, apocalyptic stage set up to the windy city fresh off of their recent Grammy win. Aside from the odd tour dates the band is still in support of U.S. breakthrough The Resistance. Words don't really so justice to one of the best live acts in the world so it is our pleasure to supply you with the spectacular HAARP live from Wembley Stadium in full.

Music Video Friday - 4/22/2011

Welcome back to yet another Music Video Friday. Only four videos today with the last one being nearly an hour long. We start today on a somber note as we recognize the untimely passing of TV on the Radio bassist Gerard Smith this past week. Our hearts go out to his family, friends, and the rest of the band who have canceled several upcoming tour dates. Your videos...

Scissor Sisters - "Take Your Mama" (Live at The Brit Awards)

Formed back in 2001 the Scissor Sisters have spearheaded a glam rock revival over the course of their three studio albums. Their self titled debut has sold over three million albums worldwide spawning hit singles like "Laura", "Comfortably Numb", and the above mentioned "Take Your Mama". Over the course of the past few years they have collaborated with the likes of Kylie Minogue, Elton John, and even Bono who praised them as the "the best pop group in the world". Although popular in their native U.S. the Scissor Sisters call the U.K. their "spiritual home" where the bulk of their successes stem from. Last weekend the band brought their high energy dance party to the fields of Coachella and move on in promotion of last year's Night Work. "Take Your Mama" wherever it is she needs to go then come back and watch this live performance from 2005.

Ratatat - "Drugs"

Another band active since '01 the electronic rock duo Ratatat also blew up Coachella last week with their heavy jams and light show. Hailing from Brooklyn, of course, guitarist Mike Stroud and bassist Evan Mast embrace the sounds and psychedelia of 60's rock with a twenty first century spin. Over the years they've scored high profile opening spots for acts like Daft Punk, Bjork, and Mogwai as well as collaborating with Kid Cudi on his hit single "Pursuit of Happiness" along with MGMT. Check out their creepy video that may or may not have been influenced by "Drugs".

Foo Fighters - "Bridge Burning" (Live on Letterman)

Well I think we've talked ad nauseum about the Foo Fighters recently, but just when you think you're done Dave Grohl just "ropes" you back in. With a new documentary set for official release coupled with their latest album Wasting Light hitting number one all over the world the Foo's are back in the spotlight after a brief hiatus. The back to basics disc features old school rock hooks along with Husker Du's Bob Mould on guest vocals and Grohl's former Nirvana band mate Krist Novoselic contributing bass to "I Should Have Known". Most recently Grohl and co. took over "Live on Letterman" to perform their new album along with some old favorites. Here is the perfect cardio track for your next time at the gym, trust we we tested it, "Bridge Burning".

TV on the Radio - "Nine Types of Light"

As we mentioned before Gerard Smith passed away this week after a battle with lung cancer. Earlier this year TV on the Radio recorded a video for each track on their latest LP Nine Types of Light compiling it all into a 60 minute film. Although Smith was too unwell to tour with the band he was able to contribute to the recording of the album. As a result we pay tribute to the TVOTR bassist the best way we know how, by featuring his last musical efforts in full here. Aside from our tribute the film is truly of great merit and is deserving of a view regardless of these unfortunate circumstances. Here's "Nine Types of Light". RIP Gerard Smith.

Unscripted of the Week - 'Water for Elephants'

With legions of "Twi-hards" still at his feet, teen-dream Robert Pattinson attempts to take another step away from the brand and role that made him famous in the adaption of the best seller Water for Elephants.Co-starring Academy Award winners Reese Witherspoon and Cristoph Waltz the film follows Jacob Jankowski (Pattinson), a man in his 90's reminiscing in a nursing home about his time spent as a circus veterinarian. After studying the death of his father Jacob boards a train without any direction. He soon discovers he is traveling on a circus train and joins their ranks as an animal caretaker. Jacob meets the lovely Marlena (Witherspoon) who is married to the head animal trainer August (Waltz). This, of course, results in a steamy affair the details of which would spoil the whole film.

Welcome back AOL-ers! Big weekend for music here in New York City. We're really hoping tonight's The Strokes concert at Madison Square Garden isn't some elaborate April Fool's joke. At the same token we really do hope that tomorrow's LCD Soundsystem show isn't their last as they have promised.

The Strokes - "The Modern Age"

In case you haven't noticed over the past couple of weeks, we're big fans of The Strokes here at Music Video Friday. Since we left our heroes they've scheduled a slew of summer dates and have taken over late night TV with great performances on Letterman, Fallon, and SNL. We would be completely remiss if we didn't recognize their first appearance at their home town Madison Square Garden tonight. Let's hit the way back machine and take a trip to a simpler time...the early 2000's. Welcome to "The Modern Age".

TV On The Radio - "Will Do"

We should probably warn you in advance that this edition of MVF might come across as a little New York bias. Apologies in advance but "Will Do", the video for Brooklyn's own TV On The Radio, is too great to ignore. Much like The Strokes, TVOTR hope to make 2011 their own with a new album set for an April 12th release. If their latest effort is anything like the superlative earning "Dear Science" then we are all in for another addition to an already great spring in music. Watch TVOTR's latest video? "Will Do".

Two Door Cinema Club - "I Can Talk" (Live on The Interface)

This Irish trio of pop rockers have been all over the place lately. After jumping up into the music public's consciousness with a big 2010 Two Door Cinema Club have scored their first big single in "What You Know". With a rousing performance at the MTV Woodie Awards at this year's SXSW the sky seems to be the limit for the drummer-less three some. See it's not all about New York bands today. Here's "I Can Talk".

Portugal. The Man - "New Orleans" (Live at SXSW)

The experimental and highly prolific Portugal. The Man always seem to be on the tip of everyone's tongue. Maybe that's because in their short five year history they have managed to release six albums with a seventh on the way in May. Renowned for their live shows, replete with prog-rock-like improvisation and laser lights, the band hits the festival scene for another go around in 2011. Take a glimpse into what you can expect this summer with an exclusive of "New Orleans" live from SXSW.

A HEARTFELT GOODBYE: LCD Soundsystem - "Someone Great"

After three albums, hundreds of sweaty dance parties, and a final gig at Madison Square Garden, James Murphy and co. will call it quits tomorrow night. We know, we know another New York band but we've got a good reason. Exiting on the top of their game LCD Soundsystem have influenced a countless number of bands despite only about a decade of existence. What pushed the band over the top wasn't just the great dance grooves or the whip-crack smart lyrics, it was the heart injected into each tune that connected each moving body on the dance floor. Never has a band made you want to get up and dance and question your existence all at the same time. LCD Soundsystem you will be sorely missed. It's always hard saying goodbye to "Someone Great" but hey...did somebody say reunion tour 2020? **sniff sniff**

Unscripted of the Week - Source Code

With a slew of techno-thriller films on the slate for 2011, April sees the release of the hotly anticipated Source Code. Starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Michelle Monaghan, and Vera Farmiga the film follows a man placed inside a foreign body to help solve a crime with millions of lives at stake.Captain Colter Stevens (Gyllenhaal) wakes up on a train to find he's part of a secret government experiment called the "Source Code", a program that enables him to cross over into another man's identity in the last 8 minutes of his life. Stevens must stop a bomber re-living the incident over and over again until he can figure out who is behind the it all and prevent the next attack. All while, of course, falling in love with one of the train passengers (Monaghan).

Unscripted of the Week - Sucker Punch

After the recent successes of the stylistic 300 and Watchmen director Zack Synder takes his unique brand of visual storytelling to his latest effort Sucker Punch.The source of many a fan boys attentions lately the surreal action/thriller stars a cavalcade of young stars including Emily Browning, Vanessa Hudgens, and Abbie Cornish. Described as "Alice in Wonderland with machine guns" Sucker Punch follows Babydoll who is sent to a mental institution in Vermont. Her only escape, literally and figuratively, is through her imagination. With the help of four other young girls Babydoll fights through various obstacles within her own mind to gain the ultimate prize, her freedom.
